What is Wordfolk?
A place to find small, independent blogs, not any one topic but just the common thread of "small and worth reading." No algorithm, no feed to game: a rotating shelf of new and overlooked writing.

Every blog is submitted, then read by a real person before it goes live. We're not checking traffic or polish; we’re checking whether it's a blog someone kept writing because they wanted to, not to sell something.
Browsing, searching, saving and endorsing blogs is free, and so is submitting a blog for review. Featured placement is paid, and it is entirely optional: nothing else on the site depends on buying it.
Some pages carry a sponsored image, always labelled Sponsored. We host it ourselves, so there is no ad network in these pages, we pass nothing about you to the sponsor, and we build no advertising profile of you. We may use a measurement tool to see which pages get read; if we do, the privacy and cookie policies will describe it before it starts, and we will ask for your consent if it needs consent.
Yes. Every submission is read by a person who opens the blog and reads a few posts before deciding. That is why review takes days rather than seconds, and why there is no way to pay to skip the queue.
Use the "Submit a blog" form. You can submit your own blog or one you read regularly. Either way, tell us why it’s worth someone’s afternoon.
Yes, and it is genuinely welcome: recommending someone else’s writing is half of what keeps the directory interesting. The one thing not to do is imply a blog is yours when it is not, because only the person who submitted a blog can later buy a Featured placement for it.
Usually within a week. A backlog can stretch that, and a blog written in a language none of us reads takes longer. Either way you get a notification when a decision is made, approvals and rejections both.
A personal or small-team blog that is still being updated, written because the author wanted to rather than to sell something or rank in search. Traffic, design and follower counts are not part of it. The submission guidelines set the bar out in full.
If something material changes (the blog is more active, or better fits what we’re looking for) you’re welcome to resubmit. See Submission guidelines for what we look for. If you think we simply got it wrong, email us instead and a person will look again.
Email us with the change and we will make it. Listings are edited by hand, so there is no self-service form for it yet.
Yes. Email us and we’ll take it down, and there’s no need to explain why.
Once a submission is approved, its owner can book it into a sponsored position by the week, plus applicable taxes. The homepage’s Sponsored section is $15 a week, and also takes turns in the sponsored positions of the directory and search. The first card on the blog’s own category page is $8 a week. It’s a paid position, not an editorial endorsement, and it is labelled Sponsored.
Yes. Each week has 4 homepage placements and 1 per category. The checkout shows which of the next 8 weeks still have room, and a week that is full cannot be booked.
No, and it cannot: only a blog that has already been approved can be featured. There is no way to pay for review, to speed it up, or to be reconsidered after a rejection.
No. Each booking is a single charge for the weeks you choose, from one to 4 in a row. There is no subscription, nothing renews, and there is nothing to remember to cancel.
Yes. Book the weeks you want after the ones you already have. A blog holds at most one homepage placement and one category placement in any given week, so the checkout does not offer weeks it already has.
Within 48 hours of paying, and before the placement has started running, yes, in full. After it has gone live it is not refundable, because the booked weeks are being delivered. If something went wrong on our end, that is a different matter and we will put it right. The refunds policy covers every case.
Our payment provider, which is the merchant of record for the sale. It calculates any tax due from your own country at checkout, and your card details go to it directly; they never reach us, and we never store them.
Not to browse, search or read. You need one to submit a blog, save or endorse listings, report a problem, or buy a placement.
So that an account belongs to somebody reachable. You cannot sign in until the verification link is followed. If the link expired, just try to sign in. That sends a fresh one, which is why there is no separate resend button.
Check the spam folder first. If it is not there, attempting to sign in sends another. We do not accept addresses from disposable-mailbox services, so if you used one, that is the likely reason.
Go to your profile’s Notifications tab and turn off whichever emails you don’t want. Turning all of them off won’t affect your account.
From your account settings. We email you a confirmation link first and nothing is deleted until you follow it. It removes your profile, sessions, saved blogs and endorsements, but blogs you submitted that we published stay in the directory, detached from you. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is and is not removed.
There is no self-service export yet. Email us and we will put a copy together by hand.
Email hello@wordfolk.app and a person will answer. The submission guidelines, refunds policy and privacy policy go into more detail than this page does.
